Responsible for: real estate planning and operations; technical operations for TV division; IT; human resources and labour relations; security; special projects.§ Project Management, Facilities Development and Construction:Led the acclaimed 4-year redevelopment, from concept through construction, of a former industrial property in Liberty Village (Toronto) into The ZoomerPlex (home to several media businesses) on a limited budget. Led consultant team in an integrated design process to develop cost effective solutions for interior spaces and base building system infrastructure including mechanical, electrical and IT systems.§ Property Operations Leadership:Recruited, trained and led the property management team. Developed all facilities operating procedures and policies. Sourced all service providers and negotiated all service agreements.§ Leasing:Personally, without use of an agent, negotiated a sublease on a former business location, eliminating a $9M liability and saving in excess of $.5M in renovation and commission fees. Negotiated the termination of 5 leases for business units moving to the ZoomerPlex, beating budget by 50%.

Created a human resources consulting business. Retained by Hudbay Mining to lead the implementation of a major merger. Subsequently retained to lead all human resources initiatives supporting the organization’s growth strategy.

Reported to COO and President for television division with 30 stations across Canada. Responsible for: national real estate planning and facilities development/construction; property operations management for Toronto TV assets; national labour relations; corporate security; special projects for executive team.§ Project Management, Facilities Development and Construction:Led the extensive 10-year, $100M redesign, renovation, and restoration of the nationally recognized landmark CHUMCity building (Queen West, Toronto) and the historic 260 Richmond Street commercial building. Recognized for highly innovative design and space utilization while exceeding client expectations at construction costs typically at least 20% lower than market standards. Led the integrated design process for: complete redesign and restoration of the interiors; restoration of both exteriors; new building automation systems, security systems, elevators, back-up generators, roofs, HVAC systems; IT infrastructure.§ Property Operations Leadership:§ As executive responsible for operations of the 220,000 sq. ft. CHUMCity building: formed, directed and mentored property operations and security teams which kept 24x7x365 operations for over 20 TV stations running successfully for a decade, consistently reduced maintenance and operating costs; successfully met distinctive demands of a wide range of tenants, including live music station and newsroom.§ As executive responsible for the 60,000 sq. ft. 260 Richmond commercial property, including profit/loss, consistently reduced costs and provided exceptional service for tenants while meeting or beating budget. § Leasing:Directly involved in all leasing strategy and activity for 260 Richmond. Consistently achieved over 95% leased rate.§ Business Reorganization:Teamed with the senior executives across Canada to develop several major cost reduction strategies.
