Civil construction industry Training and Development Manager. Responsible for the:• Design, development and delivery of training and assessment materials to AQF Civil Construction criteria• Design, development and delivery of business specific training and competency check materials • Mentoring - training administrators and trainers/assessors• Key role in the design, development and delivery of a learning management system from pilot to roll-out through the business nationallyThrough people development and improving people performance I assist the business deliver quality works safely whilst meeting customer expectation.Previously, I gained experience in human resources management and training also in the civil construction industry.Specialty area in business specific material development includes the following: • Induction training• Verification of Competency (greater than 50 civil construction plant and equipment related VOCs developed and rolled out to date)• Workers on Foot – Fixed Sites• Workers on Foot – Mobile Sites• Reversing Responsibilities (vehicles with restricted rear vision)• One Point Lessons (OPLs)• Quality Guides (asphalt contracting and spray seal road surfacing operations)• Workers on Foot (aligned with RMS) Development and Training expertIn the past training material design and development has largely been achieved through paper-based materials however I am now strongly focused on producing online training and assessment materials utilising Rise (Articulate).

Monitor and implement strategies and processes to ensure the health, wellbeing, competency training and upskilling of 270 wages and salaried employees spread across 18 sites in NSW (utilizing an in-house system).Provide advice and support to operations on human resources issues. Implement and coordinate HR strategies to assist the business achieve its objectives. Recruitment, retention, annual salary and performance reviews, remuneration advice, succession planning, employee training, employee development, HR administration, overseeing of payroll, return to work coordination and grievance advice.Provide advice (and support) to Senior Management, eg, Recruitment, Performance Management, Industrial / Employee Relations matters, Succession Planning, Training and Development, Remuneration, Performance Appraisal Process, Induction Process, Disciplinary Matters, Employee Leave Entitlements, Pay Rates.Provide advice (and support) to employees on: Policies/Procedures, Training/Development, Grievances.Management of Payroll (120 wages employees) within Enterprise Agreement guidelines.Management of senior appointment recruitment and provide recommendations.Conduct Psychometric testing and report analysis.Manage Enterprise Bargaining Agreement renegotiation process between Boral Asphalt and wages employees.Conduct annual salary reviews and bonus payments (within set time-frame and budget)

Provide advice to senior management in relation to: recruitment, salaries, training and development, pre employment medicals, psychometric testing; disciplinary matters, leave entitlements; and labour hire requirements.Staff management.Manage workers’ compensation claims to ensure minimum premium costs and maximum employee health is achieved.Management of the administration and human resources functions of some 350 wages and salaried employees across Boral Asphalt (NSW).Conduct Psychometric testing and Report analysis.Recruitment for senior appointments.Overseeing of the payroll function of 160 wages employees (within EBA guidelines).Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) interpretation for wages employees and management.Annual Salary reviews and bonus payments.
