My passion is people! I love to serve, encourage and instill value in those around me. I am administrative, organized and love finding creative solutions. My adventurous spirit led me at 23 to leave a great job in Texas to travel the world as a volunteer with Mercy Ships a Global Charity offering hope and healing aboard a hospital ship. I planned on doing it about a year, but it captured my heart and then I met my husband and we lived, served and raised our family on board the M/V Anastasis for 18 years (1984-2002).On board, I worked as an Executive Assistant, Media Liaison, Advance Team, Hospitality & Event Manager, Tour Guide and a variety of other roles. We left the ship in 2002 and moved to Montana then ultimately Seattle in 2014.In 2017, I re-joined Mercy Ships as Regional Development Manager for the Pacific Northwest. I am honored to represent this wonderful relief organization that serves the poorest of the poor.We are committed to providing the highest level of medical care and surgical procedures in our state of the art floating hospital ship the M/V Africa Mercy. We are transforming lives, communities and healthcare infrastructures through training, equipping and capacity building so that the nations we serve can be strengthened to take care of their own. We have been developing our systems, standards and deep relationships with governments and health care workers in sub-Saharan Africa for over 40 years.Together we are measuring our success through accountability, commitment and partnership and we are seeing progress! I am so grateful for the opportunity to help these nations move forward and to rally others to join us.
