Supervisor to 120 field agents and volunteers trained to eradicate a Neglected Tropical Disease called Guinea Worm. Cameroon was certified Guinea Worm free in 2007 by WHO; however, it has found itself as the #1 most endemic country in the world as of 2023, with over 250 infections. I was asked by The Carter Center to build up a surveillance system and data gathering system in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, in order to launch interventions to eradicate the disease. Collaboration with communities, local leaders, Ministry of Health, government was essential. Eradication efforts relied heavily on local support and a detailed surveillance system based on field epidemiology. Major aspects of management role included logistics, finance, HR, capacity development, training, and overall contribution to the growth and direction of the program. -
