Responsible for Claim Reviews through evaluation and implementing modifications for claims handling procedures. Provides direction to external clients with respect to coverage, investigation and ultimate settlement, including active participation in settlement discussions. Actively pursues all avenues of recovery including, but not limited to timely recovery of deductibles from insureds and manages subrogation activities. Provides regular reports to Clients regarding losses either exceeding or likely to exceed the authority level or as prescribed by regulations within a specific Claims manual. Involved with new product development.

Responsible for performance, development and coaching of claims staff (i.e. hiring, terminating, performance and salary management). Is a technical resource for not only Claims staff but also Underwriting Staff. Establishes adequate reserves for both indemnity and expense and reviews reserves on a regular basis to ensure adequacy. Provides input to the Senior Mgt. with respect to strategic business plans, including but not limited to product analysis, services, geographic focus, and broker intelligence. Provides direction to internal and external lawyers with respect to coverage, investigation and ultimate settlement, including, but not limited to direct participation in mediation and arbitration and active participation in settlement discussions. Actively pursues all avenues of recovery including, but not limited to timely recovery of deductibles from insureds and manages subrogation activities. Provides regular reports to Senior Management regarding losses either exceeding or likely to exceed the authority level or as prescribed by regulations within the Claims manual. Involved with new product development.
