In 2015 I was voted in by our executive board to fill an unrepresented space on the board as a Central Region Representative.In 2016 I was voted in to this position by our union's membership.In 2016 our Training and Certification Chairman, Murray Campbell asked me to become his deputy and I became the Assistant Training Chair for our local. Since that time within the follow few months we issued a phenomenal 175 certifications to our members.In 2016 our Business Manager approached me to start a new committee and so in March I gathered with the initial and very valuable members of our local's newest committee - the Young Workers Committee.My co-chair is William Penson, and we are supported by many members within our local, among the Mentor's Division Chair, Josh Taylor, who has supported us as the IA's first Mentor's Division Chairman. Our committee is dedicated to connecting the greater entertainment community through community outreach programs,networking events and social gatherings as well as providing education outlets and resources for members and non-members.

I have operated camera for several live event productions since 2004. Since 2014 I began using this skill with AV companies that I now work with.Companies that I work with include AVTS, AventTechs, ATX Events and VTS.I am proud to work with these companies and to provide video technician services and customer service excellence.Every week we film the Saturday evening mass live at St. Theresa's Catholic Church and it airs on Time Warner Cable, Chanel 11 at 9am on Sundays. We also do special events such as weddings and holy sacraments. I attend these productions whenever I am not booked on another project, and either cam op or TD and switch. These productions use a 3-camera set up.

For a period of time when my own family was developing I worked with youth. During this time I became a highly requested substitute teacher at the Austin Discovery School, a local charter school that holds grades Kindergarten through 7th grade.I also used to work at the YMCA with children age range is from 3 months to 12 years, and sometimes teenagers. I developed a summer program for teaching science to children through fun hands-on activities, and utilized this program at the school to create an after-school science club back in 2014.While I no longer work at the Y, I am still on the sub list at ADS.

Art Connectors was a nice idea that my very good friend, Christina Loy had one day, which involved managing artists and helping them to get their work into galleries and other shows to spread art and happiness to the community. It worked, and we were very good at what we did, but in the end we found that the amount of work that had to be put in just never returned enough to equate for the time that was spent away from our beautiful families.The website is still functioning until 2021, and while I have dissolved our tax license because I will no longer be selling artwork or goods of any kind, the Art Connectors dba remains intact and, if you view the website you will see why. Having a business makes taking donations to help others in need very handy!Thanks again to everyone who pitched in to help our grip brother!
