Left my role with Montgomery County Public Schools to pursue full-time writing and educational development. My three years as an administrator for Montgomery County Public Schools taught me how to give really good feedback. It’s where I learned to streamline the process to get my post-observation write-ups completed in far less time.Other accomplishments in this role included:➢ Helping teachers become better teachers➢ Leading the school to state and national blue ribbon status➢ Helping revise the district’s GT policy to make it more inclusive for students of color➢ Helping write the district’s new Middle School Model (I was the chief writer on the final draft)

My time as a teacher and instructional coach at Montgomery County Public Schools really developed me as a teacher. I was able to make rigorous learning available for a diverse range of students and eventually learned to help ALL my students (especially struggling learners) successfully access rigorous instruction.Other accomplishments in this role included:➢ Creating a color-coded grading system that helped me give amazing feedback to students and significantly impact their growth as writers➢ Starting an AP language and composition program at my high school➢ Tripling the enrollment of that program in one year➢ Tearing down the gates to AP at my high school, making the program accessible to any student willing to try➢ Helping my high school rank on Jay Mathews Challenge Index for the first time➢ Coaching other teachers on how to increase their rigor and access for students of color
