Within the course of my career, I have veered off onto many paths and have started over at some things because the path I was on didn't seem to fit my personality. After I graduated high school in 2000, I started working as a Day Care provider in Overland Park, Kansas. While I loved this job and found it rewarding, it was not giving me everything I needed. I knew an education was required in order to get what I felt I needed. I started attending the University of Kansas to get my degree in Language, Literature and Writing, while working at the Day Care. In 2013, I had to move from Overland Park, Kansas, leave my job at the Day Care and pursue other opportunities. My sister-in-law thought that Maximus (GDIT at the time), would be a good fit for me, so I applied as a CSR for the Medicare program and the CCO Contract. At first, it was overwhelming, I had not done anything like it before, but it grew on me and I chose to stay. While I have been at Maximus I have held 5 different positions. I have been a Customer Service Representative (CSR) (2013), a Written Correspondence CSR (2014), a Quality Specialist (2015), a Quality Alignment Specialist (2017), a Trainer (2019), Quality Manager (2022) and a Training Manager (2024).Through the time working with these different departments and helping other people, I found I enjoyed most starting at the beginning, finding out where the problem lies, working with the cause and finding a solution. I enjoyed being a part of that solution or helping people discover that solution for themselves. This to me was rewarding. I also wanted to be a person that people felt comfortable with, one that moved up the ranks and has been in their shoes, one that can empathize with them and someone that will go to bat for them. I discovered this about myself through my career path with Maximus.
