When it comes to all things English—language teaching, editing, or captioning—I know what I'm doing.1. Teaching experience: As an English language educator, I have worked with kindergarten, primary-school, high-school, and adult students in Australia, South Korea, and Spain. Working in diverse settings and with diverse ages has given me a solid understanding of how to tailor educational materials to suit and engage students from all walks of life.2. Writing and editing experience: My professional writing career began in 2020 when I started creating educational podcasts for H&P Education. I was soon promoted to the position of editor for other writers' podcasts. My shift to academic editing happened in 2022 when I started working for MDPI (an academic publication house) as a freelance English editor, a role that requires me to ensure manuscripts meet the company's strict publication standards.3. Grammatical knowledge: Working as an English editor and as an English language teacher has given me a solid understanding of both the mechanics and art of the English language. Whatever your English needs, I can give you what you need—whether that is helping you refine your written voice, correcting your work to meet stringent publication guidelines, or casting my "grammar Nazi" eye over your work.4. Transcription and captioning: In my role as a captioner and notetaker at a deaf education centre, I am required to transcribe audio with the utmost dedication to the words of the speaker. Typing tests place me at above 80 WPM. Subtitles, closed captions, and meeting minutes are all up my alley.5. Success in remote roles: I have a proven track record of succeeding in remote roles. My previous role with H&P education and my current role with MDPI have both required a level of self-motivation, discipline, and accountability that would transfer well into any other remote role.6. Intercultural awareness: Having worked on three different continents, I am no stranger to connecting with people from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. I have had over 30 different nationalities from Europe, Asia, South America, and the Middle East in my classrooms.I am currently seeking a remote role that would fit in with my primary role of working in English language teaching. I am open to any work in editing, tutoring, transcription, captioning, AI tutoring, and beyond.
