Hired to set up the first on campus, outpatient, clinic focused on students who require ongoing mental health care not serviced by the student mental clinic short term model. Worked with an interdisciplinary team to develop clinical and administrative protocols and guidelines. Developed educational and advancement opportunities for the clinicians. Worked with a team to create templates for students and clinicians to ensure a seamless process. This clinic was required to be self-supporting and under my supervision, we have met our first-year goals. Additionally, I carry a clinical caseload and run case conference groups for the clinicians and psychiatrists. I sit on the PBHS high risk case review committee and the interdivisional leadership committee.

Mentor and teach medical residents and students, while rotating through the Behavior Health Intensive Care Unit.

Duties: Responsible for a 16 bed in-patient psychiatric unit. Create and implement policies consistent with OIG, JACHO and other regulatory agencies. Assisted in the hiring and onboarding of personnel; run treatment team; oversee distribution of workflow; provide supervision, training and guidance to staff.Committees: Co-Chair- Employee Threat Assessment Team; Educational coordinator- Disruptive Behavior Committee; Sacramento County 5150 Trainer; Trainer- suicide prevention responsible for training local police, fire and EMS on Veteran specific issues with regard to PTSD and suicide. Member of the VA Suicide Flag Review Committee. Completed DEMPS training and was listed as ready for deployment.Additional Duties: Supervise and train UC Davis medical residents, medical students and other mental health professionals. Created a training program for 3rd year psychology doctoral students which was adopted by other campus partners. Responsible for psychological assessment, short-term treatment, consultation and crisis intervention on the BHICU, in the Emergency Department and on the medical floors.
