As the ELL specialist, I identify those children who need additional English language support by conducting individual assessments. I develop specific learning programmes for these students and provide support and intervention to bridge the gaps in the student's language learning. I assess progress towards pupil targets using Westminster Stages of English language acquisition for monitoring and tracking purposes. I assess how well these learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment for future teaching to understand the demands expected of pupils in relation to the school curriculum. I directly liaise with teachers and TA's to ensure all staff are aware of each child's specific needs and provide guidance and strategies in supporting our ELL students. I initiate and develop partnerships with parents by providing workshops to help with homework strategies. I implement the ELL provision in the school including operational action plans. I report targets and progress to parents, Class Teachers, Head of Inclusion and SLT.As the Social Media Coordinator, I build the school’s online presence, whilst strategically mapping the distribution of content in line with the school calendar, academic and community events, and various announcements, to further increase brand awareness and interest in Horizon English School. I create and co-ordinate engaging text, image and video content, ensuring regular school stories are shared within our school branding guidelines. I design posts to sustain reader’s curiosity to interest both existing and prospective families and track engagement and followers. I support colleagues in the optimal use of school’s social media and facilitate online conversations.
