Studies show that more adults stay enrolled in English classes as part of a family literacy program than do in adults-only programs. In each of her novels, she lures readers into an intriguing world of life-like imagery and memorable, colorful characters wrapped in a provocative tale that powerfully stretches the imagination.Her latest work, Deception in the Pews, spans denominations to document the anguish and despair suffered by those who have endured abuse at the hands of the very faith leaders sworn to teach, mentor and nurture them spiritually. This long overdue book examines what too often transpires when faith leaders fail to lead, opting instead to deceive and abuse while hiding behind scripture, pulpits, confessionals and closed doors.When Robyn is not penning her own novels, she edits for other authors. Operation Change Chicago (OCC) is a community-driven and grassroots-oriented community health organization. It capitalizes on a critical opportunity for positive behavior modification in individuals who suffer from chronic conditions such as joint pain and diabesity. OCC's mission is to address musculoskeletal disparities and its related co-morbidities in African American and Latino populations throughout Chicago and its surrounding areas through interventions that promote physical activity and other healthy behaviors; thereby, creating health equity in African American and Latino communities.With a team of 7 Board Members and 7 volunteer staff, OCC targets the uniquely burdened and underserved communities of African Americans and Hispanic/Latino women through the integration of weekly, structured physical activity with culturally tailored patient education sessions focusing on mental health; nutrition; social support; health care provider presentations about orthopedics, arthritis, primary care, health literacy, access to care, community health workers, as well as exercise. Approximately, over 500 women have been impacted by the organization.

This summer internship was instrumental to the development of the Platinum Program for Home Care Assistance (HCA). The Platinum Program offers affluent seniors a higher quality of care so they can remain safely and comfortably at home despite either cognitive or physical decline.Responsible for creating a business case for the Platinum Program based on intel gathered from interviews with key HCA personnel, e.g., Co-Founder, Director of Marketing, and Caregiver Hiring Managers. Defined the program's target audience and suggested a communication strategy to reach them. Identified the gap between what the target audience expects and what is currently available. Offered suggestions on how to bridge this gap. Analyzed competitive landscape and suggested ways to establish relationships with key referral sources Offered suggestions for Client and Caregiver Engagement. Conducted a focus group with six individuals to get their input on the viability of the potential program. Recommended the ADKAR change management model should the firm move forward with the program’s creation.
