Robyn is licensed as a marriage and family therapist, an EMDRIA Certified practitioner, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, a Virginia Board Approved Supervisor, and a Level 11, C-PTSD Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Robyn is a clinical fellow member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and member of many other clinical organizations (see website for full CV). Robyn has completed the Certificate Program in Advanced Trauma Treatment, training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and many trainings in maternal mental health. Her experience encompasses a wide range of issues, specializing in helping people make and maintain positive changes in their lives while dealing with depression, anxiety, surviving emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, dissociation, addiction and ACOA issues, eating disorders, problems at work, school, and home, women's roles, dysfunctional relationships and challenged family systems. In addition to private practice, Robyn has consulted with medical personnel, schools and treatment facilities. She works extensively with individuals (adults and adolescents), couples, and families. Her approach in treatment is both proactive and positive: geared toward achieving increased self-esteem and healthier relationships, as well as as cognitive and behavioral changes. Robyn's work integrates traditional talk therapy with other creative and body-based modalities.Robyn's work with at-risk adolescents goes beyond behavioral interventions and resolving negative school performance. Working with an adolescent, she taps into the strengths of the family systems, helping members grow and thrive together.
