As my role has developed, I have continued to manage all of the education projects, including outreach work, and maintained strong relationships with local and regional educational establishments.The Education Department is engaging with record numbers, and our community outreach work continues to expand with the introduction of SocialArts – a groups which provides creative connectivity for older isolated people. I manage a vast network of freelance arts practitioners during the day to day running of the department to ensure that workshops and events are facilitated creatively and effectively. Within my role I work closely with the Artistic Director and CEO to look at funding priorities for the organisation and department, writing funding bids, reporting back and managing relationships with key stakeholders, and funders. In the last 3 years my work in the Education Department has engaged with over 24000 people.

Moving from the Marketing Department at Norden Farm, to lead my own (one-person) department as allowed me to hone my marketing and expand my project work.The Education department at Norden Farm runs independently from the day-to-day running of the arts centre, and in order to run the projects, it relies completely on fundraising from trusts and foundations. Within the role I have developed, strengthened and maintained a sustainable education programme for both Primary and Secondary schools through effective evaluation, marketing and promotion, and development of new projects and fundraising. As well as managing all of the educational projects, including outreach work, I have continued to build strong relationships with local and regional educational establishments, to increase attendance at workshops and performances at Norden Farm.As part of the role, I have created relationships and liaised with artistic companies regarding the delivery of education work at the centre and continue to endeavor to seek out and develop new opportunities for partnerships with local businesses, groups and societies to support the Centre’s education and participatory arts programme.

As my role stands now, I manage a lot of my own time within the job, with the ability to prioritise the work at hand, and present work within strict time constrains. My role continues as above with the following responsibilities. Devising and implementing special marketing promotions. Continually seeking out and developing new opportunities for partnerships with local businesses, groups and societies and researching target groups and developing database records.

Progressing from my three month internship into full time employment my role at the organisation began to expand, as well as the day to day jobs undertaken during my internship, within the first year or of my job the role also included, the planning and implementation of a programme of direct mailshots to Centre members, individual supporters, subscribers and previous customers. The creation of in house flyers, for specific events, and promotions and the development of distribution lists and distribution points for publicity and print material.As above, with the following additions, my role as progressed further to now include liaising designers and printers, as well as with visiting companies and local arts groups to obtain copy and images for season brochures and marketing campaigns. Updating copy and reviewing design of the Centre website. Proof-reading promotional and marketing literature. The design of flyers and posters for use within specific marketing campaigns. I also undertook the design of a bill board campaign which stood at Maidenhead Train Station to promote the Christmas 2012 season. I am also responsible for overseeing a large number of volunteers who undertake tasks for the small Marketing department, including the mailing of direct mailshots, season guide brochures and season guide brochure distribution into the wider area.

Specific project work on the Norden Farm 10th anniversary campaign. Working with the Marketing Manager to create targeted e-flyers, also helping with the distribution of promotional materials into the local community. Amongst other tasks, the day to day jobs of my internship included reporting sales figures to promoters and artists, and the organisation of targeted direct mails and brochure mail outs.
