I introduced the use of JUnit for unit testing to the project and presented to the other members of the team on the advantages of using it; the code quality of areas of code where I used it were very high. I also configured components of the PTXdist-based board support package such as CUPS, Ghostscript and Python. This was a Windows CE 6.0-based embedded system that runs on an ARM microcontroller. I wrote the application for it in Visual C++ using native Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) code that required the use of many digital signal processing techniques including the fast Fourier transform, correlation using time- and frequency-domain techniques, and finite impulse response (FIR) filters. The application software was designed and implemented from scratch, entirely by me, with the exception of the user interface design.During this development, I effectively managed a contractor who worked on the WinCE kernel on a day-to-day basis, and liaised with the other team members as required, especially the hardware developer. I also worked on the kernel.I had an idea for automatically determining the best filter settings during correlation which I researched and developed without any assistance. It was named the Automated Filter Intelligence System (google it!), and it has become the major unique sales point of the product. Other people within the company had tried to solve this problem and failed, including a previous technical director who held a PhD. It is the only correlator on the market that I am aware of that has that capability and the product regularly and significantly outperforms competing products because it has this feature.I also remotely lead a software team working in Bangalore who ported a Windows application to Windows CE 5.0 for the company which was called MicroCall Plus.
