Hessel Shanghai was an international preschool daycare centre established in Shanghai in November 2016. I was responsible for collaborating with the owner to essentially build the business from scratch, including developing and implementing training programmes, creating the budget, managing and recruiting employees, and creating a business model that could be emulated in other cities.Key Achievements• Increased student enrolments from 20 to 125.• Increased staff headcount from 10 to 30.• Developed and implemented reporting and survey system from scratch, including all policies and procedures.• Ran 30 training workshops for up to 60 parents, condensing a 10-day programme into multiple, shorter courses, thereby increasing engagement and reach.• Mentored four school principals on communication strategies, change management, cultural intelligence, training programmes, and more.• Presented at four Conferences as guest speaker, including at the World Principals Conference Beijing 2018, “How do we develop children’s EQ for their successful future?” with 500 attendees.

IMTI is a Montessori teacher training centre in Beijing, based on the principles of child-centred, self-directed learning first advocated by Maria Montessori. Key Achievements• Promoted to this position due to exceptional results in prior position at parent company.• Created 35 new Professional Development workshops for foreign and local teachers by liaising with international and local educators.• Led the most recognisable guest booth at the American Montessori Society (AMS) conference Philadelphia 2015 and Chicago 2016.• Created new website.• Trained marketing staff to deliver accurate information to students and increase customer service.

Wisdom International Education Group encompasses The International Montessori School of Beijing, Jiade Bilingual Montessori Kindergarten, and an International Montessori Teaching Institute.My position involved overseeing external English documents, increasing communications and brand recognition.Key Achievement• Promoted to Executive Director at subsidiary company within six months due to exceptional results.

Key achievements• Organised the move into the new $7 million, 5-star green star Leongatha Campus, including implementing strategies to ensure the smooth transition of staff.• Assisted with the official opening of the Leongatha campus by preparing the dignitaries guest list, organising catering and rooms, and organising a public open day with tours. • Project managed the refurbishment of the staffroom, library, training restaurant and foyer areas at the Warragul Campus. • Overturned poor attendance to the Student Graduation Awards evening and the Industry Awards Dinner evening into extremely well attended, successful events.• Implemented waste management initiatives and energy reduction strategies.• Improved operational efficiency of room and car booking procedures.

Leongatha

GippsTAFE boasts over 85 years of history and is dispersed over 10 campuses (previously seven).Key Achievements• Organised the Industry Awards dinner for 160 guests, including arranging sponsorship for the event.• Liaised with over 12 employment agencies and schools to increase enrollment numbers.• Organised the first and subsequent event of 100 Primary School children to participate in activities with 50 GippsTAFE students in areas of hospitality, nursing, hairdressing, beauty and disability.

I was temporarily promoted to the Facilities Manager role for a six-week period covering all seven campuses. I recommended and approved maintenance works, and liaised with external service providers to discuss major building works undertaken at the Institute.Key Responsibilities• Provided a recommendation on quotes for the installation of boom gates to the Warragul car park after negotiating amendments.• Liaised with VicTrack regarding the major repairs to the Warragul Railway Station Tea Rooms historic building.• Ensured works continued at Leongatha campus including signage, external lighting, and a new cleaner’s cupboard.

I provided executive administrative support; diary management; event management for Mayoral functions; writing and editing of letters and documents; agenda and minutes; and maintained confidentiality during my tenure.

I supervised 12 reception staff members over two locations, developed and delivered their training, implemented new Doctors’ and Reception roster which increased Doctor and patient satisfaction and reduced preparation time. I also implemented new procedures to increase accuracy of banking and recovery of outstanding accounts.
