Experienced and versatile public policy professional with over 20 years in state government affairs, specializing in legislative tracking, business strategy and association management. As Director at Leonine FOCUS, I guide strategic initiatives, oversee a team of analysts and manage client relationships for a range of industries navigating complex policy landscapes. Skilled in contract negotiation, project management, business development and event planning, I also contribute to social media, design and marketing efforts.I serve as the Executive Director of the Washington Area State Relations Group (WASRG), a DC-area networking group for state government relations professionals, and manage association services for the State Privacy and Security Coalition (SPSC) and The Advocacy Group (TAG) a 50-state and global lobbyist network. My hands-on approach in a dynamic, growing firm allows me to continually develop skills in problem-solving and strategic planning.I’ve worked remotely from Maine for over 20 years, but travel frequently to DC and FOCUS’ home-base in Vermont for work. I draw on my past experience with Boston’s Brian Hickey Associates and legal firms to bring a customer-focused approach to advocacy and government relations work. I also spent my collegiate years as a waitress, a role that laid the foundation for the customer service mindset and task-juggling skillset that I still use daily. I’m active in community volunteering and have supported local nonprofits, state campaigns and grassroots initiatives on issues relating to marriage equality, public space preservation and private gun sale background checks. As a proud born-and-bred Alaskan, I now call the gorgeous, rugged coast of Maine home. I spend my free time exploring the local beaches and ski slopes with my twin daughters and coaching their spirited SoPo Strikers U-11 girls soccer team.
