Afrika Tikkun is a prominent NGO in South Africa whose Chief Patron was former President, Nelson Mandela. Afrika Tikkun champions vulnerable orphaned children and their families in the poverty townships of South Africa.As Director of Development, I increased awareness of Afrika Tikkun in the USA and raised US dollars to support education opportunities for impoverished children. I created a fund-raising strategy by spearheading and expanding grass roots development function in the US. Identified, cultivated and solicited broad base of donors including on-line social media campaigns. Organized special events and home-based gatherings. Designed marketing and communications materials, wrote newsletters and helped customize the website.
