I support programs and advocacy to increase the quality, affordability, and accessibility of early childhood experiences and child care in northern New Jersey. More than one-third of families are struggling financially in New Jersey, and child care for an infant/toddler or paid preschool cost as much as a mortgage. Meanwhile, child care providers are also struggling financially. Our work focuses on systemic change to support this issue.

I coordinated initiatives that support K-12 schools as they work to improve culture and climate through social emotional and character skills building to ensure youth feel engaged, connected, and safe.This included supporting mentoring programs, planning and facilitating middle school student summit events to encourage student engagement, and developing and supporting a broad-reaching initiative to improve school districts. My work involved grant writing as well.
