One of Roby' most rewarding on-going projects is with his lifetime passion : music, that he managed to bring also into his professional side. Roby has studied music since early age and played live, in bands, sessions, commercials and advertising audio sessions since the early 80's.Using his contacts in the medical world, in Italy and abroad, has started in 2009 "Live Jazz Music Service" a unique service aimed at medical congressual or company/corporate events. Roby can offer any type of formation (duo, trio, quartet, quintet, etc.) for any type of event, from the smallest to the largest, for inauguration cocktails, dinners, concerts, background, etc. playing the right type of jazz for the specific audience : ballads, swing, latin, standards, etc. Roby can selects the tunes and the musicians to satisfy any need, in Italy and internationally. Roby Perissin has officially joined in October 2014 the MGC Diagnostics team as a Senior Advisor providing strategic consultation services for the global medical business. Focusing on the Italian, European and the Middle East markets, Roby has worked on the integration, branding and positioning of MGC Diagnostics and Medisoft products and distribution channels. In addition, Roby’s longstanding key opinion leader relationships aligns the many scientific activities supported by MGCD in the academic respiratory sciences community.In addition Roby has handled the international European marketing activities, on behalf of MGCD, for the RESMON PRO, exclusive unique device for the respiratory system analysis through the FOT (Forced Oscillation Technique) method, for the company that designed and developed the system, RESTECH, Milan (www.restech.it). Roby is working on the marketing material, promotion, contacts with Key Opinion Leaders, to launch, commercialy, this innovative device that is already been fully validated and will be used in cooperating and non-cooperating patients, a breakthrough in non-invasive testing, for which MGCD has acquired worldwide sales rights. Sensormedics Italia was the exclusive historical Italian distributor since 1984, of the leading pulmonary diagnostics manufacturers such as Sensormedics Corp, Jaeger Gmbh, Micromedical UK, and Nutritional diagnostics (Tanita Japan and Bodymedia, US), became over the years the undiscussed market leader, with about 70% market share, largest organization (18 direct employees in the Milan' office and 16 regional distributors) in the cardiopulmonary and nutritional diagnostics devices in Italy : spirometers, pulmonary function and cardiopulmonary exercise systems, indirect calorimetry and physical activity/lifestyle wearable monitors, bioimpedance body composition analyzers (Tanita, Japan), launched the first and only respiratory mechanics monitor (Bicore inc, US, at the time, for ventilated patients in ICU and NICU. During the Sensormedics Italia full time job, he successfully undertaken and completed a major 2 years long consultant project, contributed to design and launch in the worldwide medical market the “metabolic holter” Sensewear Armband (Body Monitoring System) a revolution in Energy Expenditure, Physical Activity and lifestyle wearable monitoring, used in Diabetes, Obesity, weight loss/nutritionists/dieticians, Pulmonary rehabilitation and Sleep medicine, sports medicine all specialties where he lectured, internationally.Tis product went from a fitness/weight loss product to a recognized medical diagnostic device (Roby handled the CE MDD approval) used today in hundreds of labs worldwide and in many scientific publications and articles. He setup clinical sites around the world, had the product validated, had the first dozens of publications started, setup marketing and advertising projects, interviewed, selected, trained and supported the whole worldwide network of distributors.Selected, hired and managed four international sales managers, for the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia/Pacific.

Roby also launched and was in charge of the Sensormedics 2600, their first neonatal/infant pulmonary function system.Attended several medical professional courses at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, in the department of respiratory medicine (Prof. J. Rodarte), at the McGill University of Montreal (Prof. J Milic-Emili and Prof. J. Bates) studying the pulmonary “flow limitation” topics. He has been for a stage, several visits over 6 months, at Mount Sinai hospital, Miami, FL under the guidance of Prof. M. Sackner where he studied (adult pulmonary lab, Sleep Lab, NICU lab) the “Respiratory Inductive Plethysmography/RIP” (Respitrace), thoraco-abdominal motion analysis methods, in awake and sleeping adults and neonates. He was the primary force with Sensormedics Corp, in organizing as “coordinator and speaker” several pulmonary workshops across the United States on pulmonary function, respiratory mechanics, body plethysmography and cardiopulmonary exercise testing as well as High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) in neonates (NICU) and adults (ICU).
