Has managed the archaeology, speleology, fauna and flora studies for the licensing process. Has spent three years in South Africa working for Environmental Resources Management (ERM), where he led the Contaminated Site Management (CSM) team in Johannesburg. He was actively involved in various projects in South Africa, Mozambique, Angola and other African countries. Coordinated a liability study for a Brazilian mining company at their coal mine located in Mozambique. The objective of the project was to identify the potential risk and costs involved and afterwards propose the best remedial alternatives. Coordinated an ESIA for a new oil refinery in Angola. The responsibility included coordination of the specialist studies, public consultations and financial management of the project. While in South Africa, coordinated the review of EIA reports and licensing process for a global leading mining company. The goal was to access the environmental licensing process for factors that could delay the project implementation and start-up.

Ricardo has spent twelve years working for Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Brazil. During this period he provided technical support for mining and oil companies, conducted liability studies, environmental audits, reviewed hydrogeological characterizations, environment impact assessment reports, remediation projects and managed corporate sustainable development programs. Participated in asbestos abatement and final disposal projects and has supervised a landfill closure. He installed pumping systems for LNAPL recovery, coordinated UST removals and conducted pumping tests, Bail-Down tests and Slug Tests. Additionally, he coordinated investigation and remediation projects of chlorinated solvents in fractured aquifers. He has extensive project management experience in groundwater quality evaluation and remediation projects. Conducted over 35 phase I due diligence environmental site assessments and over 80 phase II environmental site assessments in industrial sites and landfills. He worked with emergency response and has supervised drilling and sampling programs in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and United States of America.
