In 2012, Esteve and I founded our own company. What started just as a way to pay the taxes of our successful smoking cessation app, QuitNow, became our everything when we left our regular jobs and embarked on this adventure full-time.Since then, we've been focused on developing mobile apps for both small and big companies. We built about 80 different apps, but if we had to showcase some, we would talk about three projects:1. Adevinta Spain (formerly Schibsted Spain): we joined Adevinta on 2015, when they hired us only for two months, just to help them rush in delivering the app of one of their main verticals, InfoJobs. After that, they wanted us to join them for another three years where we had different roles, from just developing for an Agile team, to leading the core team that supports the Android development on the whole InfoJobs company, to supporting the Android development in the whole business, now including Fotocasa, Milanuncios, Vibbo (formerly Segunda Mano), Coches.net, Motos.net, and Habitaclia. Here in Adevinta we were captivated by their engineering culture and learned, applied, and spread the benefits of Agile.2. Carglass and Belron: In 2014, Carglass Spain tried something new: to replace offline paperwork with a single mobile app connected to a Bluetooth thermal printer. What started as a proof of concept is now the tool used every day by the Carglass technicians in Spain, Austria, Ireland, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. As different business units have different workflows, the app is heavily tested with both unit and instrumental tests, to assure the quality the technicians deserve.3. QuitNow: the smoking cessation app the World Health Organization recommends. In this more than ten years journey, we developed leading Android and iOS apps, but also Windows Phone and Blackberry ones. We invested in success but also in failure, and learned all sorts of knowledge totally out of our regular roles as software engineers.
