About Rocco J Rotello

Currently in new role as Director of Laboratory Operations for a leading 503b Sterile drug compounding company, STAQ Pharma, Columbus, Ohio. Bringing safe, effective, sterile injectable drug products to patients who need critical therapies and solutions to treat disease. Supply key products to Hospital networks across the USA, primarily drugs that are listed on FDA shortage lists. My team will be performing analytical and microbiology testing assays on sterile products under cGMP that need to adhere to specific potency and stability standards with state-of-the-art technology. Previously led the start and initial ACPE accreditation of the School of Pharmacy at Cedarville and was part of the faculty for the first graduating PharmD class of 2016. Ten years as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cedarville University, School of Pharmacy, Cedarville, Ohio. Taught pharmaceutics, drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, and focused on biologics.  Utilized peer instruction and team-based learning in P2 and P3 disease modules for PharmD students.Maintained a laboratory research emphasis on developing monoclonal antibodies as agents that modulate signaling pathways in various cell systems, including endothelial cells.  Developed antibody candidates for therapy for vascular stabilization with Aerpio Pharmaceuticals.  Minor focus in normal cell death and understanding how cells die via apoptosis (programmed cell death) in various environments. Previous experience also included 15 years of drug discovery with Procter & Gamble pharmaceuticals. Led core lab focused on delivering biologic, cell culture, protein reagents and histology/pathology capability.  Was key leader of apoptosis (cell death) projects in ischemia/reperfusion injury. Developed novel mono and bi-specific antibodies with Aerpio Pharmaceuticals, Blue Ash, Ohio, currently lead antibodies are with Eye point therapeutics. In addition, spent 3 years in Medical & Technical Affairs as a medical information scientist, supporting the brands Actonel and Asacol.  Provide expert safety and efficacy information to the health care community and patients.Specialties: Drug development and approval, assay development and testing, technical due diligence for novel ideas, filed INDs and part of ANDA process for P&G lead molecules, monoclonal antibody generation and production, in vitro cell culture and apoptosis expert, immunology, histology, anatomy and pathology expertise.  Expert drug information resource and communication skills.
