- Project 1: Study of alternative splicing as novel molecular mechanism for chemotherapy resistance in (B and T cell-) Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia patients. Here I implemented a whole genome RNA-seq methodology and evaluated reliable analysis pipelines for the detection of splice variants in collaboration with experts in bioinformatics.- Project 2: Testing of spliceosome modulators - both in vitro and in vivo (Article 9 certificate) - as novel therapeutic agents in mesothelioma and pancreatic cancer models. - Processing of patient-derived PBMCs in ISO15189-accredited laboratories for diagnostic purposes: evaluation of surface marker expression by multi-color flow cytometry, nucleic acid extraction and analysis by qPCR.
