I lead the enterprise marketing and communications teams for CNO Financial Group (NYSE:CNO). CNO is middle-income America's valued financial security partner. We provide health and life insurance, as well as retirement solutions, to middle-income Americans through our family of brands including Bankers Life, Colonial Penn, Optavise, and Washington National.

Beyond Monumental promotes healthy living & fitness for all ages by operating premier running events including the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the Monumental Mile. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), Beyond Monumental has donated more than $1 million in the past 10 years to the Indianapolis Public Schools to support healthy lifestyles for young people.

As the division's operations and finance leader, I helped the Bankers Life team generate over $2 billion of revenues and over $300M of EBIT annually through the marketing and distribution of Medicare supplement insurance, life insurance, fixed annuities and long-term care insurance products to the middle-income senior market through a dedicated field force of over 4,000 career agents nationwide.

I became CFO in July 2015 after the company began experiencing declining revenues, increasing capital constraints, heightened regulatory scrutiny, and several government lawsuits. My focus was on reducing costs, generating liquidity, remediating material weaknesses, ensuring continued SEC compliance, and improving financial reporting.

The Center for Professional Development provided short-term corporate training programs in Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, HP, and other IT and business skills subjects, both in-person and virtually from over 120 locations nationwide. My P&L responsibility for this division included direct reports across the U.S. in sales, delivery, vendor management, marketing and customer support.

I was responsible for pursuing growth initiatives including strategic partnerships, geographic expansion, joint ventures and acquisitions. I sourced and evaluated over 100 acquisition targets across different industries, domestic and international, and developed financial models, synergy calculations and valuation proposals. I led due diligence and purchase agreement negotiations, ultimately closing 2 transactions in the corporate training industry. Post-close I led the integration activities including optimizing different management teams, IT systems, operations and support activities, and the exit of multiple facilities.

BrainCredits was a consumer internet start-up that provided an online Transcript for all of your formal and informal learning - like a college transcript, but for anything educational.

After selling the company that I founded to RGP (Resources Global Professionals - NASDAQ: RGP), I joined them to lead the policyIQ Business Unit. As Managing Director I was responsible for leading our software development, customer service team, account management activities, budgeting and forecasting, and for selling and implementing over 250 clients worldwide, including working directly with clients on their process reengineering and change management plans. I presented globally on entrepreneurship, compliance, and content management topics.

I founded a technology company to develop enterprise content management and compliance solutions. We built our policyIQ product to provide a simple, web-based application for enterprise content management and for legal, IT and SOX compliance. We raised multiple financing rounds, and in less than three years we sold the company to global consulting firm RGP (NASDAQ: RECN) for an 8x return on our capital raised. I joined RGP after the sale to continue to manage and grow the business.

I drafted business plans, developed budgets and projections, managed the accounting staff and external audit engagements, and worked on corporate formations and contracts for the company and its related entities.

In the audit group I managed Fortune 500 audit engagements, consulted on several mergers and acquisitions, and worked on IPOs and secondary offerings.

I developed financial models for company valuations, analyzed public company financial statements for industry comparisons, and worked on sell-side engagements.
