I am a first-generation college student at the University of Houston, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a passion for holistic well-being. My extensive experience as a nurse’s aide and in various healthcare settings—including intensive care, palliative care, emergency, and behavioral health—has refined my skills in patient care, empathy, and non-violent crisis intervention. My volunteer work with the American Red Cross and the Girls Empowerment Network, along with my roles in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Best Buddies International, and the LGBTQI+ Club, has further developed my commitment to community service and cultural competence. As an Asian American woman and veteran’s wife, I bring a unique perspective shaped by resilience. My goal is to become a psychologist, focused on integrating mental and physical health, particularly in underserved communities. I am dedicated to advancing mental health initiatives, advocating for social reform, and transforming societal perceptions of mental health to make a meaningful impact for future generations.
