Clinical Instructor - Family Nurse Practitioner Program

Performing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, and management of patients with varying psychiatric illnesses including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders as well as psychotic disorders in the adult population.

• Performed well woman exams, pap smears, sexual transmitted disease screening and treatment• Educated, prescribed forms of contraception including oral, IM, intradermal and intrauterine options

• Primary care services including physical exams and assessments in an outpatient clinic• Orders diagnostics tests, formulate diagnosis, and prescribed treatments for acute and chronic condition based on evidence based guidelines• Conducts routine screenings and immunizations for designated students in a school setting as mandated by the Stat

• Provided medical care to inmates in local Jail including treating chronic conditions,medication management, as well as responding to medical emergency situations • Counseled inmates on health maintenance, risk reduction, and stress management

• Manage acute illness, as well as chronic, complex, multisystem disease processes in a Federally funded low income clinic, treating approximately 15-25 patients per day with age ranges from newborns to geriatrics• Perform acute minor care and physical examinations, including pap smears, bimanual exams, digital rectal exams, suture removal, and incision and drainage of simple cellulitis • Counseled patients regarding health risk factors, smoking cessation, routine screenings, physical activity, disease management, as well as immunizations

• Worked closely with Physicians and Midwives during the delivery process to ensure safe delivery outcomes • Assisted Physicians by circulating during surgical procedures• Assessed and evaluated patient condition pre and post operatively• Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of obstetric and gynecologic conditions
