In order to decrease the alarming racial disparities in health observed in metropolitan Detroit, the Faith Based Genetic Research Institute has partnered with Wayne State University and Karmanos Cancer Institute to establish the Faith Community Research Network (FCRN) as a way of engaging underrepresented communities in medical research, clinical trials, and general awareness of the benefits of medical advancements.

Manage, plan, organize, coordinate and implement fiscal year calendar of events to include fundraisers, academic, social and special events and programs for assigned clients, internally and externally. Create or coordinate progress reports and/or timelines to key stakeholders on a weekly basis. Discussing suggested contingency plans and including them in reports. Manage event budgets by tracking all venue, vendor, design, print and mail cost. Distribute budgets as a part of client communication. Ensure successful implementation of events; communicate any changes of program statue (i.e. venue relocation, date change, change of speakers, facilities issues, catering within 24 hours. Maintain positive relationships with donors, vendors, University VIP, external VIP and various departments. Our team planned over 350 events a year for Wayne State University. Managed events for WSU capital campaign that fundraised over $500,000,000 for the University.

Manage Office, administrative staff, student assistants and work study students. Updated and managed the Special Events website and managed reservations. Prepared and submitted all bills, invoices, pro-card purchases and requisitions. Promoted in 2008 to an Event Manager
