Rochelle Ward (Faizah Tabasamu) is a poet featured in the newly published, 'Where I see the Sun: Contemporary Poetry in St. Martin and an educator at a local high school. She has recited at Axum and Summer Speak open mic and other poetry events like the 2014 Anguilla Lit Fest, and the St. Martin Book Fair literary evening in 2012 and 2013.The graduate of Pace University holds a BA in English and Communications and has taken MFA-level creative writing courses at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad. She was awarded the Hilary Becker Poetry Award for most promising poetry during her final year at Pace in 2004 and the ACT Award (Annual Culture Time Award) for Literature in 2012.Ward, the owner of Don’t Break the Comb, also blogs about the Caribbean experience and enjoys shooting and editing videos in her spare time.
