Began in Amazon Retail Customer Service in November 2016 and transferred to Shipping and Delivery Support in February 2017. Served as a special handling subject matter expert and assisted with the development of the Amazon Logistics Special Handling (AMXL) Escalations and Operations Support team from the launch of the first AMXL station through formalization of an international support team. Completed Amazon’s Thrive Leadership training program. Moved to the Amazon Logistics On-Road Customer Excellence team in March 2020, serving as the Field Quality Assurance Specialist for DWA2, Amazon Logistics Seattle-based mega-station. Duties include the maintenance, operation, and enhancement of the Genome Parsing Suite (GPS) analytical pipeline. GPS code is written in Java on a UNIX platform with additional analysis tools developed in C/C++, PERL and shell scripts. Responsibilities include verification of both the appropriate interpretation of the biological requirements and the technical accuracy of the results produced, analysis of outside bioinformatics tools and data, and management and analysis of the biological data generated. Position is funded through and supports the National Institutes of Health Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (BRIN) initiative and reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Research. Primary responsibilities are to coordinate, stimulate, and participate in the development of multi-disciplinary research efforts in the fields of bioinformatics and medical informatics within the university and across the state. Position requires a broad understanding of the fields of Biology, Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, and Medical Informatics as well as knowledge of the current bioinformatics research efforts and resources at institutional, national and international levels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating and supporting collaboration across departmental and institutional lines, serving as a consultant on medical trial and project steering committees, bioinformatics software design and development, maintenance and improvement of bioinformatics infrastructure, and supervising and training technical personnel.Major Roles Serve as a statewide contact for the Kentucky Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network. Coordinate both institutional and statewide efforts and present initiatives at regional scientific conferences. Assist in the coordination, design, and development of the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center Biospecimens and Bioinformatics Core data warehouse. The initiative is hosted by the Kentucky Cancer Registry, a participant in the NCI’s SEER program and a NAACCR Gold-Certified registry. Additional collaborators include the UK Medical Center, UK Departments of Computer Science and Biology, and the UK School of Library and Information Science.  Coordinate campus Bioinformatics group and organize monthly meetings and presentations. Administer Bioinformatics Internship Program for visiting undergraduate scholars. Supervise departmental IT staff.

Production Support AnalystPrimary point-of-contact for a designated client; personally supported one of Navitaire’s major clients, Air Canada. Duties include monitoring, analyzing and resolving complex production, application and systems issues. Manage software migrations to the production environment and ensure that technical design and production review of upgrades are conducted according to standards. Includes support and enhancement of live production environment with emphasis on: resolution of production issues due to code, architecture, batch scheduling, online performance or database problems identification of key deliverables and benchmark times for the system coordination of process and procedure modificationsQuality Assurance/Special Projects EngineerOversee compliance testing of all information systems and services.
