SapuraAcergy (Joint Venture between Acergy and its local partner Sapura) was awarded a 1 billion USD contract by Shell for the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of all facilities on their Gumusut Kakap field offshore Malaysia.I was seconded by Acergy to SapuraAcergy during this period to take the position of Lead Engineer for the Flowlines and Risers Package on this project. During this assignment, I was also involved on tenders and a fast track project (Liu Hua 4-1, shallow water project offshore China). The main responsibilities on Gumusut Kakap were:- In charge of a team of 9 installation engineers- Responsible for the overall preparation and installation of flowlines (including in-line Sleds) and steel catenary risers (terminated by flexible joints or stress joints)- Responsible for graduate engineers training and development - Development of steel catenary risers wet parking procedures- Responsible for flowlines Initiation and In Line Structures Installation Procedures development- In charge of the review of all documentation relative to the flowlines and the subsea structures- Ensure design / fabrication are developed in accordance with project requirements - In charge of Field joint coating supplier documentation/procedures review- In charge of installation campaign preparation and follow-up- In charge of the definition of installation methods for flowlines (including subsea structures) and risers- Involved in the Project Expert Committee (identification and mitigation of technical, development and operational risks)- Review shallow water pipeline installation procedure: cofferdam, excavation, beach pull, backfilling
