Learned and utilized tools and training to effectively advocate on behalf of the English Learner and Latinx students and communities. Hire teaching staff for Downtown Charter Academy located in Oakland.

Created the first elementary school for the organization. Ranked as a top-performing elementary school within its first-year. More than doubled the growth of the student body population in year two (160 to over 360) and coordinated its move to a new facility. Continued its growth by 80 students in year three and reaching over 450 students by year four. Developed and implemented a PBIS system that was used organization-wide. Fostered community input and parent participation that excels 80%. Developed and lead teachers in Data-Driven instruction and provided feedback on lesson plans and staff observations. Met with teachers on a weekly to monthly basis depending on the need to continue development. Developed professional growth plans for individual teachers. Lead a team of over 40 instructional and support staff on day-to-day functions. Implemented systems, and procedures that have been used organization-wide, from Professional Growth Plans,Data Analysis procedures, PBIS, Safety Protocols along with contributing to various charges throughout the years for the growth of the organization from mentoring other leaders to hosting professional development for teacher and leadership staff.

Lead the school through an expansion of the student population, more than doubling growth while relocating the school to a new site. Recruit and hire teaching and support staff. Developed and led teacher training scope of the year, Data Driven Instruction cycles, and staff evaluations, staff observation, and feedback cycle. Provide feedback on weekly submitted lesson plans. Coach teachers on a weekly to monthly basis depending on the need to continue development. Developed professional growth plans for individual teachers. Fostered Community involvement, created student teams and groups. Led the school in attaining and retaining the highest ranking performing middle school in the district. Developed and executed a three-week summer intervention program for all students. Developed and implemented an afterschool program that served over 70% of the student population with both enrichment activities and academic support.

Delivered lesson plans across all subject areas that were catered to students needs, while providing rigor. Used assessments data to determine student’s areas of growth, weakness, and what needed to be retaught. Collaboratively worked with staff and administration to analyze standards: created a 56% growth from the 1st to the 2nd interim assessment. Created a classroom culture where 80% mastery is needed to succeed. Presented students with college presentations and the steps they can take to attend a university. Mentored a fellow teacher on lesson plan activities, structure, and intervention. Coproduce a Math unit plan for the year.

Prepared and delivered lesson plans in all subject areas. Differentiated lesson plans for students with disabilities including ADHD and Language processing disabilities. Held a position in the student council where I advised students how to organize fundraisers and school activities. In charge of the Dover Bucks store where every Friday after school 5th and 6th grade students could exchange their Dover Bucks for rewards.
