Lead 5-day backpacking trips with at-risk-youth every summer. This is a rite-of-passage for the youth to become junior leaders at camp. I organize all the logistics for the trip including food and menu planning, permits and itinerary, activities, council, survival skills and nature education. As a Wilderness First Responder, I also take care of the safety and first aid for the trip.

Lead 4-5 day backpacking trips in Yosemite, and Big Sur. I have done both roles of teaching yoga and being the backpacking leader. I am a Wilderness First Responder and oversee the safety and first aid of the group.

Mount Madonna is a yoga community and retreat center. I managed the operations of a huge garden, leading crews in every process: from seeding to harvesting vegetables for the kitchen. I also worked in many other areas of the community such as landscaping, temple construction, the bookstore, and teaching yoga.

A wilderness therapy program for at-risk-youth. With safety as the first priority, I led groups of up to 10 students on cross-country hikes to a new location each day, planning the logistics for each day. Days were fully struc- tured with group and one-on-one therapy, setting up shelters, fire making with bow drills, woodcarving, camp- fire cooking, team-building initiatives and games. Through practicing assertive communication, we empha- sized accountability and choice, guiding the students to consider their long-term ambitions in life.

Involved assisting the physically and mentally challenged, enhancing their lives with recreational activities and programs based on individual goals. Also required writing monthly and quarterly progress reports, case notes and frequency charts pertaining to a set of objectives chosen by each client.
