Effective altruism is a global movement working to use evidence and reason to figure out how to do the most good with our limited time and resources, and take action on that basis. Effective Altruism New York City is the main hub for the EA community in New York, supporting a community of over a thousand New Yorkers passionate about improving the world. Responsible for the daily care, enrichment, and monitoring of animals seized as part of an NYPD cruelty case, including training and supervising volunteers, managing supply stocks, and administering animal medical treatments.

• Oversee volunteer foster program, including: solicitation of fosters; creation of medical discharge forms for foster animals; scheduling of pickups, drop-offs, and medical appointments with fosters and staff; fielding of foster questions and medical inquiries; organization and distribution of supplies to foster caregivers.• Coordinate and schedule spaying/neutering of shelter residents.• Facilitate transfer of adoption-ready animals to the Adoptions Center.• Oversee and document the flow of animals into, through, and out of the shelter.
