-As a GSL Leader I was one of two leaders responsible for a group of 10 high school students in a small mountain village in the highlands of Ecuador during a month long homestay while working on service projects. · Facilitate informational and curricular meetings with student participants and parents/guardians;· Oversee all aspects of the program on site.

I have worked three trips with Explorers West Middle School. The first was 3-day backpacking trip up to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness about 60 miles East of Seattle. I also worked as an instructor for their winter trip; 3 consecutive Fridays snowshoeing in Snoqualimie Pass and building snow shelters. The most recent trip was with 10 seventh graders hiking.

Assure proper diet and nutrition for all trips during the summer season. Keeping food costs low and stay within a given budget. Did a bagging and rations class for all students passing through for the summer. Assisted the transportation, kitchen, facilities, and gear departments as needed. Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

I co-lead a group of 6 high school students that performed trail maintenance and park upkeep for 2 weeks outside of Atlanta, GA. We camped along the banks of the Chattahoochee River and even enjoyed a 7 mile canoe trip before a weekend trip in Savanna where we visited Fort Pulaski National Monument and camped among live oaks draped in Spanish moss. I worked 3 courses with the Dunn School: -Fall junior 7 day backpacking trip in the Southern Sierras -Fall senior 5 day climbing, hiking and rafting-Senior 2 week rafting trip on the Klamath, Trinity & Cal-Salmon Rivers in Northern California

As an instructor at OCOSS I was responsible for a group of 10-16 5th or 6th graders for 4-5 days at a residential camp in San Bernardino National Forest. Teaching natural sciences, physical education and ecology while in the outdoors hiking, activities and lessons.
