DEMONSTRATED SUPERVISORY SKILLS IN INSTRUCTION AND LESSON PLAN DEVELOPMENT. Managed the instructor and evaluator standardization program for more than 200 Army rotary wing aircraft instructors. Served as one of 10 out of 623 instructors to serve as battalion master evaluator; trained and mentored over 50 evaluators at all levels. Named as the battalion’s very first standardization and evaluation Non Commissioned Officer, where I checked on all military and civilian instructors to ensure that the design of lesson plans, courses and examinations were being taught and delivered in a way consistent with training policies and guidelines. SUPERVISED ALL ASPECTS OF TRAINING REVIEW. Developed, maintained, and enforced the standard operation procedure (SOP) encompassing all aspects of instructor/evaluator certifications and the instructor recognition program. Prior to my arrival, there were no accountability procedures to enforce performance evaluation standards that were in place. After researching best practices from other units, I developed and implemented a program to train and mentor evaluators on how to assess instructor performance. I implemented performance improvement guidelines for instructors who did not meet evaluation standards. As a result of my efforts, instructor performance improved by an unprecedented 60%. Coordinated and conducted required semi-annual and no-notice instructor evaluations. I was the first person to develop a structured evaluation schedule and set of benchmarks, which resulted in a more organized and structured performance assessment process. Reviewed student end-of-course critiques for 14 individual courses. I analyzed trends in these evaluations to implement curriculum changes, recognize high-performing instructors and develop performance improvement plans for trainers with lower scores.
