ALETI is the federation of associations of IT companies from countries all over Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. Since Assespro renewed Brazil's participation, which was approved formally in April 2009, I've been the Brazilian national contact point for international relations with other IT associations in the region and around the world.The biggest contribution in this role happened during the year 2010, when ALETI bylaws were extensively reformed. My previous experience at Assespro, which is in fact a Federation of regional associations, was crucial to this.

Since Assespro joined WITSA, I have been in charge of representing Brazilian companies. October 2012, during the Montreal General Assembly, I was elected as board member, and appointed to head the Audit Committee.The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) is a federation of associations from the information technology (IT) industry around the world, covering almost hundred countries.

During this one year period, I was in charge of developing an in-depth analysis of innovation inside start-up and small companies in the Brazilian telecommunications sector. The final report includes proposals for policy changes.

For four years (two terms) I was the president for the São Paulo state regional association (http://www.assespro-sp.org.br), part of the Assespro system, which is the oldest and biggest association of IT companies in Brazil (established 1976).As São Paulo state is economically Brazil's locomotive, my main strategy consisted in strengthening São Paulo's influence on Assespro Nacional decisions. The objective proof of my success was the fact that I was invited to dispute (and won) national elections in 2010, hence turning into national vice-president.

Over two terms (for years), I served as Secretary Director to Assespro Sao Paulo. Due to my performance, colleagues then requested to run for president.

This Institute is a Non-Profit Organization founded by Impacta Group, one of the biggest IT-education groups in Latin America. My goal there was to help working out the Institute bylaws and defining strategies for the Institute to operate.

During two semesters I acted as an invited professor, covering subjects related to the IT market and IT policies as part of MBA courses for IT Management.

Professor at the Computer Science Department, lecturing computer science from the basics (introduction to programming and algorithms) up to courses on compiler development. As computing disciplines were spread out into many courses outside computing itself, I had the opportunity to teach not only to computer science students, but also to students from engineering, physics, management, law and even public health courses.

During this period, I consulted mainly on software development projects and taught a lot of programming courses, starting from basic C/C++ language courses, and reaching into the innards of the then 'new' Windows operating systems. Subjects like Windows SDK, DCOM and many others were so uncommon in Brazil, that I got demand to teach this courses for almost a decade after I stopped promoting them.

This was my first voluntary experience, which ended once Microsoft decided to establish their own subsidiary in Brazil. During Bill Gates' first visit to Brazil, in 1987, I was in charge of being his host at the conference we organized, and at some social events (I suppose, due to my good knowledge of English).

I was responsible for introducing microcomputers at one of the top seven commercial banks in Brazil. Starting with a couple of Apple II computers, I leaded an effort which eventually brought microcomputers onto almost every desk and bank branch.When I decided to leave, I was managing a team of twenty four people.
