Rod is a business policy adviser, executive, business angel and Fellow of the Institute of Physics. He is married to abstract expressionist artist, US-born, Barbara Hope Steinberg. He is currently Executive Chair of the Industry Forum, a highly active London-based, business policy think tank. He is also a board member of AgeneBio a US life sciences, spin-out from Johns Hopkins, which has an Alzheimer’s Disease treatment in phase 2b clinical trials. After graduation in Physics from Oxford, Rod worked as a software engineer and then in management consultancy. He has worked extensively in the financial and technology sectors, and on international engagements for the European Commission, and in the middle-east and in Hong Kong. He was a partner in KPMG for 15 years, during which, as Chair of the KPMG European High Technology Practice, he led its rapid expansion. He has founded and led start-up digital technology companies. He was CEO/Founder of zoomf.com an innovative property search engine which was sold to a media group in 2008. Recently, he has worked on public policy projects including the Kerslake Review of the Treasury, the establishment of a National Investment Bank, the decline of public trust in politics, business and the media, and strategies to reduce global emissions of greenhouse gases.
