As Fleet Officer I managed the Infrastructure Rollingstock fleet, working predominately in the Queensland coal fields. This involves managing wagon hire (internally and externally), inspections, repairs and upgrades.Responsibilities: • Led a safety culture promoting, creating and maintaining a safe approach in all operational aspects.• Managed multiple aspects of wagon management to ensure efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling resources and materials.• Monitored fleet and equipment performance, reliability and safety, then use that information to develop procedures, practices and modifications to achieve a safe, economical and more reliable operation, which resulted in minimum downtime and maximum productivity.• Partnered with relevant teams (internally and externally) to ensure governing rules, processes and systems are enacted in support of planned maintenance and business objectives, including:• Developing short and medium term maintenance and demand plans, that complied with maintenance obligations and schedules, whilst ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of resources to customers.• Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure long term maintenance plans met strategic fleet objectives.• Ensured daily communication across teams, and external repair providers, to ensure the existence of ‘one maintenance plan’ and that all stakeholders schedule and work to the plan.• Ensured continuous improvement, in availability and reliability of my wagon fleet.• Created, updated and completed SAP work orders for planned and ad-hoc maintenance and repairs.• Managed a cost neutral budget of up to $3 million. Which involved managing wagon hire to provide income to offset maintenance and minor project costs.• Developed, updated and maintained planning data, which provided effective reports for management.
