I bring years of experience in teaching, training, counselling to the vexed question of why it is so hard for humanity to implement the policies needed to restore a safe and livable climate. We have all the knowledge and skills we need to restore the climate and a healthy planet. But our near chronic dependence on fossil fuels combined with the influence of powerful political and economic interests combine to make it hard to care for ourselves, each other and the planet we share. In Citizen's Climate Lobby I work with volunteers who are building relationships with politicians, their influencers and other key people who are in a position to develop rational climate policies. By advocating for rational policy and listening to their responses we encourage and support our elected representatives to overcome the many obstacles to legislating for safe climate.Our Policy Playbook (ccl.org.au/policy-playbook) sets out clear rational policies. Our advocacy aims to get those policies supported, adopted and implemented.
