Education Specialist
CurrentAs an Education Specialist, my role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, with a primary focus on the successful launch of our financial literacy program, mandated by Mayor Adams. This initiative required me to develop and curate engaging content, covering a wide array of financial topics, including budgeting, savings, investment strategies, credit management, and financial planning, reaching over 1,000 participants. Additionally, I led a diverse team of 12 educators, spanning high school to college levels, guiding them in the program's execution as outlined by the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). Our collaborative efforts culminated in winning the accolade for the best projects of the summer, a testament to our innovative approach and dedication to enhancing financial literacy among our participants.Expanding the financial literacy program was not just a professional task but a passion project for me. I firmly believe that financial literacy is one of the most crucial skills that should be taught in schools to prepare individuals for real-world challenges. It's about equipping participants with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions, understand the value of saving, the impact of credit, and the importance of investing for the future. This belief fueled my dedication to the program, driving me to create content and lead a team that would lay down the foundation for financial empowerment among our youth.
