Working in partnership with the Maine Council of Trout Unlimited Board Chair and Legal Defense Fund Committee Chair on a short-term assignment to launch a $150,000 fundraising campaign to create a legal defense fund to prevent further damage to Maine’s fisheries environment by hydro operations. The Maine Council works with its Chapters throughout the state to protect and restore the waters and habitat of coldwater fish. This is done with the six Maine chapters and roughly 2000 member-volunteers.

Conducted a campaign planning study which led to a Board of Trustees vote to launch a multi-million comprehensive campaign. Provided counsel and direction with hiring key staff including Chief Advancement Officer, Major Gifts Officer, and support staff.

Provided campaign counsel and organizational capacity with Mahoosuc Land Trust, Inland Woods + Trails, Western Foothills Land Trust, and The Conservation Fund to raise funds in a collaborative partnership to protect over 15,000 acres of the Chadbourne Tree Farm lands in Western Maine.

In this role, I led a team of development advisors whose mission was to foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization by providing resources, strategies and guidance that strengthened fundraising capacity and effectiveness across all of the Conservancy's business units globally. Secured principal and major gifts from individual philanthropists, with a strong emphasis on blended giving options. Designed and launched a $50 million comprehensive fundraising campaign for conservation in Massachusetts. Completed and exceeded a $100 million comprehensive fundraising campaign in Maine known as the Sustainable Maine, Sustainable Planet Campaign.

Led a team of 7 professional fundraisers and development support staff in Maine with a focus on building long-lasting relationships and securing contributions from the private philanthropic sector. A proven leader in the organization incorporating deferred giving as part of blended cultivation and solicitation strategies - resulting in securing over $25 million in bequest notifications and life-income gift arrangements. Designed, launched and managed a successful $100 million comprehensive fundraising campaign - the Maine program's largest campaign for conservation in its 60-year history - including a blend of outright and deferred giving as well as fundraising with multiple partner organizations.
