Along the way, I fell into the role of chairing the firmโs marketing committee, which oversaw all its positioning efforts. We also redesigned the firm's capabilities brochure and all client service literature. It seemed like heady stuff at the time.

In 1991, the bank was closed and divided between First Empire Corporation of Buffalo and Keycorp of Albany.)Yes, restructuring was a euphemism for downsizing. When I arrived, Goldome was operating under a memorandum of understanding with the FDIC. Our group created business valuation models to evaluate managementโs planning alternatives to raise capital from unrealized asset values, business divestitures, and balance sheet alchemy. By the way, Buffalo is a great city.
