I am a seasoned service design leader with experience across diverse industries, both as a consultant and working in global financial services organisations. My sweet spot is problem solving using a people-centred approach. I add value by being the spark that inspires new thinking and nudges the organisational mindset to better outcomes. I'm a design thinking out advocate. I use it in two ways. Firstly, by ‘doing’ which means my team and I act as internal consultants to business teams, helping them explore the right problems to then to find the right solutions. Secondly, by ‘enabling’ which means training and coaching individuals and teams to develop design thinking and facilitation skills. My approach is principles-driven not process. For example, my starting point is always to obsess about the user, their unmet needs and problems, to ensure we focus firstly on ‘doing the right thing’ for the user before ‘doing the thing right’. In other words, problem before solution. Success for me lies in leading the organisation and its people in exploring the right problems that then drives better solutions. This is my value - as a catalyst, whether in enabling better business decisions or in equipping people to think differently.
