Ik was onderdeel van het strategisch team 'Het Nieuwe Veilen.' Als projectmanager was ik verantwoordelijk voor het analyseren van de huidige situatie omtrent het veilen en directe transacties van bloemen en planten. Dit heb ik oa gedaan door gesprekken te voeren met kwekers, klanten en andere relevante markt partijen en het analyseren van kwantitatieve data. Daarnaast heb ik, als onderdeel van het team, de toekomstige situatie geschetst over hoe er in de toekomst wereldwijd bloemen en planten via Royal FloraHolland verkocht gaan worden.

Projects include: e-tendering, e-procurement, procurement scans, EU tenders, supporting public privatization processes.

Selecting and guiding a group of university students in completing a project on the current financial crisis. By organizing/giving lectures and assigning small group/individual exercises, the students gained a better understanding of the causes/effects of the financial crisis and how certain countries, including Egypt are trying to solve it.

HCSS conducts strategic research and analyses on issues of international peace and security, geopolitical developments and global trends, conflict management, defence transformation and terrorism. Its partners are political and military decision-makers in the Netherlands and Europe, as well as international and regional organisations.During the internship I worked on outlining possible threats to the security and stability of the Netherlands, on the NATO New Horizons project and providing an analyses of the current economic, political and military situation in Venezuela and what this would mean for the stability of Latin America, and the Dutch Antilles.

During this internship I acquainted myself with the tasks and duties of an MEP. By attending meetings, writing reports, compiling voting lists and joining Mr. J. Mulder on his monthly trip to Strasburg, I gained a good understanding of how the European Parliament functions and the role it plays in the wider context of the European Union.
