Mr. Roderick P. Thomas is the Program Manager of AMIkids Southwest Florida , a private non-profit, community based day treatment facility that serves both boys and girls who have committed a variety of non-violent offenses and are involved with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. In this capacity, Mr. Thomas encourages a positive environment and closely works with community partners and leaders to increase success through meaningful interactions with the adolescent and their families. He is responsible for overseeing the date-to-date operation of the program by ensuring compliance with policies and contracts, oversees youth evaluation and treatment plans, completing annual budgets, establishing policies and procedures to provide leadership and control in the event of a crisis, managing all institute administrative and human resource functions, and developing and maintaining contacts with key stake holders. Mr. Thomas also manages the instructional administrative processes for teaching qualification and certification requirements, curriculum and testing compliance, master teaching schedule, and the appropriate use of distance or virtual learning curriculum. Mr. Thomas is an active member of the community and a positive influence for the youth. He is a volunteer for United Way of Lee County, a youth ministry leader for Fresh Wind Ministries, a Pop Warner Football Coach, and a coach for the Police Athletic T-Ball League (PAL). Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Science in Management and Support Systems from Ferrum College, where he was team captain of the football team, a four year Letterman, and selected to the First Team Conference. He is also a notary for the National Notary Association of Florida and is certified in Protective Action Response (PAR), Positive Achievement Change Tool (PACT), and Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS).
