Since joining the workforce almost 40 years ago I have always been interested in "understanding & optimizing" work-flows; whether they be photographic, digital, financial or manufacturing. In the early days it was done by hand or accomplished with flowcharts, whiteboards and maybe a spreadsheet. With the introduction of the computer, some 25+ years ago, I began to write basic applications which automated redundant tasks, basic math, calculating margins/markup/profit from cost, etc.During my years at Kodak Canada I was introduced to many business concepts related to the photographic industry. I was keenly interested in the newly emerging digital print processes, business information systems and analyzing manufacturing costs. When it became evident that margins were continually declining it became necessary to implement cost controls in both production and management. Seeing a need we implemented a number of Job Management Information Systems, both at a retail and manufacturing level and began to see the importance of "keeping tabs" on the business from all aspects. In 1998 I began consulting with my peers within the commercial photographic industry as a digital product specialist and a business management consultant.Within a few short years we migrated into the Countertop Fabrication industry with the introduction of a Photogrametric Measurement System called PhotoTop.We developed the training program/manuals and have trained hundreds of templaters both PhotoTop and AutoCAD LT.As we worked with numerous companies across the country it was apparent that most shops were using the Moraware Job Tracker system to manage their business. It was an easy transition to develop a comprehensive understanding of Moraware and further assist our customers with work-flow management. Eventually this transitioned into selling, implementing and supporting Stone Profit Systems and ActionFlow....going back to our grass roots we naturally took on the sales/integration/support of Slabsmith and were instrumental in integrating Slabsmith with the various all three systems. We look forward to finding solutions for our current and future customers and meeting the daily demands of the photographic and countertop industry.Specialties: digital technologies, work-flow specialist, work-flow design, work-flow architect, management information systems, job management information systems, accounting, inventory, cost accounting, digital product specialist, photographic color management, digital asset management (DAM)
