Roderick Chia is the Founder of rodVENTURE, an entity involving innovation, entrepreneurship, education and investment, as well as a Venture Partner of Raw Ventures. He is also concurrently a cofounder, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Oyika Pte Ltd. Roderick is a serial entrepreneur and had led his management team into a series of entrepreneurial ventures which became their excellent track record. Over the years, he has assumed various leadership positions such as Chief Knowledge Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Strategy Officer as well as Chief Executive Officer. In 1999, he co-founded Postkid and grew it into a phenomenal success with a good exit within 3 years. He was awarded a finalist for the Phoenix Award in recognition of his entrepreneurial determination and strong leadership skills by the Economic Development Board of Singapore.Roderick is also the co-inventor of the patented RIDN technology and was honoured with the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award, for the fifth time, for that invention. A keen educator, Roderick speaks on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at various tertiary institutions and forums as well as being a judge for the related competition. He is also serving on the steering committee for the Innovation Programme organized by the Gifted Education Branch of the Ministry of Education (MOE). Roderick graduated from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1998. He also obtained a graduate diploma in Technopreneurship & Innovation Programme (TIP) from NTU and the University of Washington, thereafter, a Master of Science degree (TIP) in 2006. In line with continuous education, he also attended the Executive Programme jointly organised by NTU and Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management as well as FastTrac Facilitator Program by Kauffman Foundation.He was awarded the Nanyang Alumni Service Award 2005 and Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2009, by NTU. In his spare time, he lectures for NTU on Innovation & Entrepreneurship and serve as Technopreneur-in-Residence for the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in NTU.
