Along with my other co-founders, we searched Jakarta for an appropriate venue and location and the right partners, and came across Dian and Cynthia Hasan from CoworkInc back in 2016. After many collaborative events, drafting up partnership agreements, and going through the extensive process of applying to hold the license for Jakarta, we finally opened our doors as Impact Hub Jakarta in June of 2017. Beyond being a coworking space, we also rent out our beautiful venue in Kemang for many functions and workshops, host inspiring events, and run local and international programs focused on social impact. This project was initiated after recognizing that the environmental or eco movement lacks emphasis on humanity and spirituality as vital elements of the better world that we wish to create. In a nutshell, the core insight is that by connecting the pioneers in sustainability and the conscious evolution of humanity and spirituality, we could offer amazing solutions for achieving an efficient, elegant, and swift transformation to a more sustainable and prosperous existence. In… Show more This project was initiated after recognizing that the environmental or eco movement lacks emphasis on humanity and spirituality as vital elements of the better world that we wish to create. In a nutshell, the core insight is that by connecting the pioneers in sustainability and the conscious evolution of humanity and spirituality, we could offer amazing solutions for achieving an efficient, elegant, and swift transformation to a more sustainable and prosperous existence. In 2011 we began an extensive writing and research exercise to clarify this strategy and to begin laying the foundation for its deployment in Indonesia. I hired a research assistant and began recruiting a team of experts from around the world. We assembled the most comprehensive 'eco' / evo database in Indonesia and began developing relationships with strategic partners. In 2012 I hired web programmers and project managers to begin putting together an integrated enterprise plan and scope of work for the project. We completed core elements of the enterprise strategy and began the process of uploading content. In Jakarta we started a series of events bringing together the eco and humanitarian community in the capital city, called 'EVO Jakarta.' Every month, we featured speakers and pioneers in the development of eco and humanitarian solutions to help solve some of Jakarta's greatest challenges, and raised funds for pilot projects to effectively tackle poverty, health, and prosperity issues in some of Jakarta's worst slums. In 2013 this transformed into a larger, nationally focused event series called 'Kongkow Ijo' in partnership with Green Radio Indonesia and change.org. The events are hosted at some of Jakarta's most eco venues, including Beehive Cafe, Treehouse Kemang, and 365 Eco Bar. In 2008 we began a third enterprise in the area of education, focusing on middle and highschool students in Jakarta. Aimed at insipiring and providing a connection to nature for the leaders of tomorrow, our field trips involved natural immersion and lots of hands on learning and brainstorming about sustainability. As a company, we care deeply about personal development and a sense of connectedness, inner peace and awareness. To this end we host spiritual events, yoga retreats, personal transformation adventures, cleansing retreats and support prayer / meditation / divine connection at our islands and our cafe. In 2013 and 2014 we are investing further in all these areas and are expanding our team considerably. Our key focus is the creation of a replicable model for evo resort villages within 2 hrs of every major population zone in the country, starting with the evolution of Pulau Macan into a world class example of an evo resort village. The Kafe comes next in priority and is focused upon creating a replicable urban model of a community center that acts as a node of inspiration and conscious evolution. We are also working on an IT platform geared towards facilitating conscious, sustainable evolution at the local and global level. After meeting the Private Secretary to the King of Denpasar, Bali, on a plane ride from Jakarta in December 2009, I discovered that more than 100 Kingdoms and Sultanates from across Indonesia had come together to help preserve Indonesia's culture. I suggested ecotourism as a method for helping to conserve the fast disappearing cultures of these ancient Kingdoms, and found myself being a keynote speaker at their inaugural session in January 2010. I suggested ecotourism as a method for helping to conserve the fast disappearing cultures of these ancient Kingdoms, and found myself being a keynote speaker at their inaugural session in January 2010. I have worked on a specific concept called 'Desa Raja' or Kingdom Villages and presented this to 18 coordinating Kings and Sultans. Since then many regions have taken up ecotourism initiatives and I have worked with a few Kingdoms to develop ecotourism strategies and plans. Working closely with the 'King of Kings' who founded FSKN and his core team of advisers, I assisted in the planning of a trip of 80 Kings and Queens from Indonesia to visit counterparts in Europe. On my last assignment, I traveled to Sumatra to work on an integrated ecotourism development plan and deliver a presentation to the local government and the extended royal family in the Kingdom of Siak. This position has given me insight into the fascinating history of Indonesia and the potential for eco tourism to assist in the preservation of Indonesia's incredible cultural heritage. Show less

I worked alongside Mr. Pesik as well as Mr. Tanri Abeng to convene the summit, coordinate with the offices of the Heads of State of South East Asia, invite speakers, and market attendance to international business people interested in South East Asia. The inaugural summit was hailed a success by world leaders and publications. It was one of the most intense and exciting times in my life, finding myself at 23 years old drafting letters to Heads of State and the Sultan of Brunei on behalf of my boss :~)During my time with Mr. Pesik, we also worked on international deals, a fishing company start up in partnership with Thai counterparts, a landmark paper on supporting Micro, Small, and Medium sized enterprises in South East Asia, and the promotion of Indonesian goods through INKOPI, Mr. Pesik's Cooperative for Indigenous Indonesian Farmers, Fisherman, Traders, and Artisans.
