Full time, I am a husband and father.I am a structural engineer and construction engineer at Lotino Engineering Ltd, providing Post-Tensioning, Structural Engineering and Construction Engineering solutions with the most positive ecological, social and economic impact in Kenya and Uganda. I am a licensed civil, structural engineer with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board (ERB 1345) and with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK PE A4041). I am convinced that timber is the material we need to drive in construction, as a climate -solution.I utilise the potential of earth, timber, masonry, concrete and steel in ways which make a significant climate solution in construction aware that the challenge is achieving the right balance across these materials towards climate change and adaptation.I am committed to designing and building a world where human dignity flourishes in a built environment that fosters well-being for all.I particularly enjoy reading the classics. Project Water, Sanitation And Hygiene EngineerUnicef Sep 2011 - Aug 2012Kampala, UgandaI was part of the team responsible for studying and implementation of innovations for water, sanitation and hygiene with a fine team from across the world. We developed and implemented a low cost "elephant tap" to be used in rural schools. This tap is a hygiene advancing tap that supports children’s development by improving hand washing in schools co-created between academia, UNICEF and school communities in Uganda. One of the key challenges was identified: stolen, broken or locked taps. In addition, the functioning taps were often left running after children washed their hands. A smaller design team took the lessons learned from the pilot testing and continued developing the tap.
